Capital on Tap updated its Rewards terms on 8 June 2026: what changed and what did not
By Chris · ·
The 8 June 2026 Rewards Terms mostly rework how monthly-paid Pro memberships and cancellations work. Points expiry, Bill Pay earning and the Avios clause are unchanged.
Capital on Tap republished its Rewards Terms and Conditions with a new "last updated" date of 8 June 2026. We compared the new text against the 13 November 2025 version, clause by clause, so you do not have to. The short answer: if you are on the free card, nothing about how you earn or spend points has changed. The edits are aimed at people who pay for Pro monthly rather than annually.
What changed
- Minimum periods for monthly-paid Pro. If you take Pro on a monthly (or other non-annual) plan, you now agree to keep paying for the minimum period in your offer, and you cannot downgrade during it. After the minimum period the membership rolls monthly until you cancel.
- Missed instalments. Miss two consecutive Pro instalments and the membership is downgraded automatically at the end of the period you last paid for.
- Switching plans. You can move from a monthly plan to annual at any time, which ends the minimum period. Moving from annual to monthly is only possible at the end of the annual term, and only if Capital on Tap offers it.
- Cancellation wording. When you or Capital on Tap cancel a membership, you now have until the end of the period covered by your last successful payment to redeem points. After that, unredeemed points are lost.
- A rename. "BA Executive Club" becomes "The British Airways Club" throughout Schedule B, matching British Airways' own rebrand. The conversion mechanics are the same.
What did not change
Three things people worried about are exactly as they were in November 2025 and, before that, September 2024:
- Points expiry is still 24 months without earning or redeeming, or on termination of your membership.
- Bill Pay still earns one point per pound on the fee option that includes points; the no-points option in exchange for a lower fee is unchanged.
- The Avios conversion rate is still "displayed in your Online Portal" rather than fixed in the terms. Capital on Tap's FAQ currently states 10 points to 8 Avios on the free card and 10 to 10 on Pro.
The Pro "Boosted Rate" clause, which pays a higher rate when you preload funds or use daily Smart Repay, was added in the November 2025 version and is untouched here.
Does it affect you?
If you are on the free card, no. If you pay for Pro annually, only the cancellation wording is new, and it is arguably clearer than before. If you pay for Pro monthly, read your offer email for the minimum period before you rely on being able to drop back to the free card. Capital on Tap must give two months' notice for changes that are to your disadvantage, and it did email customers about this update.
